The "Releasing my inner child" week
Sketching and representation Module, Semester one, XR Design
To be honest I was not really looking forward to this module definitely. If you had seen any of my previous sketches you would know why. The module was called “Sketching and Representation”. But then came RUCHI SHAH.
Exercise 1
We started our module with a no-brainer-go with the flow- get your hands dirty as much as possible exercises. We explored various mediums such as, Painting with poster colors, Making prints and patterns with carbon paper, exploring strokes through different calligraphy pens, masking tape as a medium to produce patterns, and wax crayons to repel ink to create beautiful art. Basically, the options were endless if you started mixing one medium with another.
The Module started seeming fun because of the way it was structured and majorly because of Prof Ruchi Shah. She was an idea box filled with a lot of enthusiasm and a lot more optimism. And after this round of “Getting our hands dirty,” we moved to Exercise 2.
Exercise 2
The Everyday object I chose was a tote bag, the joke’s on me (For people who don’t know me personally, I carry a tote bag wherever I go around the campus). I got the chance to explore various art styles and the best part was when I had to convert it into an experience, in this case, an artwork. Though it was time-consuming I did have a lot of fun doing the exercise.
Exercise 3- Oh the Stop motion?
This exercise was more like an extension of the previous one. We pick the everyday object we chose for the previous exercise, group in teams of two, structure, visualize, and narrate a story around it.
Everyday object picked: Clock
Team: Sanya Shankar, Varsha Anand
Timelapse
We had so much fun, patience, attention to small details, attempts to convert feelings, and emotions to be conveyed through movement, and lots more.

The Finial
The final exercise of the module was “Photo Invading”. Well before the module began we went on a heritage walk to Jodhpur city on one fine morning where we were asked to click pictures of things and happenings that interested us. And using these photos as a starting point we were asked to create or layer them with an imaginary, fictional, and exaggerated world. The idea was to bring together different worlds into one plane. And I hope I did a decent job with that.

The Prep
Ruchi ma’am had other plans with us though. She planned a really great exhibit of all our works put together at ANVISA, IIT J. Here are a few snippets of us prepping up for the weekend exhibit.
The Exhibit
What did I do ??
The module was super fun, insightful, thought-provoking, and whatnot. Then the thought of converting one of these exercises into an AR experience occurred. So I went ahead to experiment and create one.
