Did not mean this to become Autobiographical. But here we are!

Heyy! This is Varsha Anand,

🧱 An Architect by Qualification (Anna University)
🖍️ A Human-Computer Interface Designer (UI+UX Designer) by Passion,
🧭 An Insatiable learner by discipline,
🥽 And now a vivid and jumpy student explorer of the XR space (IIT Jodhpur)

🦄 Oh and also I am building a startup that has been super long due (Yes, I just made fun of myself). Check out more about it on my startup Diary.

I am really into talking about HCI for god knows how long

The Foundation :

As a child, I have always had this burning question: What is my purpose?

When someone told me that my interests could be a mix of things, I started searching for my intersection of interests. After schooling, I was drawn to my first intersection -"Design and Technology" - which led me to pursue Architecture.

BlackPages whoa!

During my fourth year of college, I noticed that Architecture internships kinda determine “n” number of things for a budding Architect. Many of my batchmates and juniors struggled to find good firms to intern with.

So, I founded BlackPages, a platform that listed all the architecture firms in the city, their recent and important projects, and related information. To my surprise, I started receiving requests from hundreds of architecture students across Chennai, asking me to add lists of firms from other cities. At this point, I felt I was doing something right and also loved doing it. Went on to host an Architectural fest collaborating with my University for the Architecture community of Chennai “The BlackOutt” design fest with a brilliant team.

BlackPages is active but on a small scale for now. I am striving to find the right time and scale to venture deeper into this. Feel free to check out BlackPages ❤️

HCI here I come!

Soon after, I became interested in psychology and neuroscience ( So glad I did ), and this powerful intersection naturally drew me toward the field of HCI (Human-computer interface) as a designer.

I firmly believe that I have found my foundational intersection and am now embarking on a beautiful journey to build my expertise around it.
